Category #3: The Believer Operates In Wisdom and Being Led By The Spirit.

This is another biggie. Sometimes people are waiting for God's sovereign act of healing or they are quoting all kinds of Bible verses for healing, when they simply need to be led by the Spirit and use wisdom. Believers should be led by the Spirit and operate in wisdom.

For example:

• God created the human body with the amazing ability to defend and heal itself. If we exercise wisdom and patience often our immune system and other systems in our body will restore our body to health.

• Another example of the power of wisdom and being led by the Spirit is the person who starts smoking in their twenties and gets lung cancer when they are 60 ... well, at 20—wisdom and the Holy Spirit would have said, "quit smoking" and you won't need healing.

• I worked for a surgeon years ago who developed and discovered much of the arthroscopic procedures and instruments used in orthopedic surgery today. One day he noticed that he had this rash on his hands that wouldn't go away. He was a born-again, Spirit-filled believer who believed in God's healing power by faith and he was seeking the Lord on it and praying for healing when the Holy Spirit spoke to his heart, "Quit using the soap at the hospital, it's causing an allergic reaction." The doctor followed the Holy Spirit, used wisdom and quit using the soap and his hands were healed. Simple!
  

• In my life, when Nutrasweet was first introduced way back, just as I was getting ready to become a Diet Coke lover ... the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and said, "Don't drink Nutrasweet." I have obeyed that all these years; however on a few occasions when there was nothing else to drink and I have had a few diet Cokes I found that I would get an intense headache, just about every time. So, I thought it was nice of the Lord to let me know that Nutrasweet doesn't work well with my body chemistry and to avoid it. I don't need healing from those headaches, I just need to obey the Spirit. Simple.

• Here's one final example. A friend of mine had a sister who could not get pregnant. She and her husband tried for years but no baby. She had prayed for healing and she had used her faith; she had had people lay hands on her, etc. No baby. She decided to take a couple of months to seek the Lord and hear from Him on this. She knew it was God's will for "the fruit of her womb to be blessed ... to be fruitful and multiply" but she didn't know what was hindering it.
  
  So, as she sought the Lord the Holy Spirit began to show her that she needed to forgive her grandfather. The story was that for years as a little girl he had sexually abused her and she had never forgiven him. He was dead, but she still had unforgiveness. She called her family together to tell them what happened and to let them know she forgave her grandfather. It was a big step, but get this ... two weeks later she found out she was pregnant. By being led by the Spirit, He showed her how to obtain God's promises to her. Isn't God soooo good?

In conclusion, it's foundational to recognize that there are three primary "categories" of the way God's healing power is manifested in the earth today. For some people this may be news to them, as they have only been taught about the first category, God's Sovereign Healing Power. I want to encourage you to look up these passages in your Bible and study this for yourself.
