Parents, you might be shocked to learn that your values have not been absorbed by your teen. It takes hard work, lots of coaching and communication in relevant ways to instill good, godly values in our kids.

The birds are chirping, the sun is shining (sometimes) and things are starting to bud. Flip flops, tank tops, garage sales, riding bikes ... trying on bathing suits (major drag!) ... all signs of a new season. Yes ... spring is here!

The lines of right and wrong in the sexual arena are quite blurry for many teens in this generation. They need your clarification ... kids need parents to clarify the sexpectations!

My mother was an expert at talking to teens. Back in the day, I recall that – my junior and senior high friends knew they could connect with my mom and many of them confided things with her that they did not share with their own moms. She knew the secret of speaking "teen."

The big question is – should we care that others are judging us? Sure, we all want people to like us, approve of us and find us acceptable, but how much do we let others' opinions control us? Who are we "performing" for anyway? Whose approval are we living for?
