Other than the Bible, I don’t usually write recommendations or reviews about books, but "Left To Tell," by Immaculee Ilibagiza, is one of the most moving books I have read in years. I am happy to recommend it to moms and their teen daughters.

People drink for a reason. They want to feel good! They are tired of the rat race, emptiness, disappointments, challenges and pace of life and they want to get “under the influence” of something else! The only problem is that alcohol is the counterfeit....

God bless you single parents! I mean it. Working a full-time job, hauling kids to school, sporting events and church is enough to make you want to come up for air; but then when you return home Mount Laundry and a sink full of dishes are staring you down. Kudos to you!

Has the pace of life made you anxious? Fearful? Trying to be in control of everything and it's caused you to become mean-spirited? Unkind? Get that body of yours in one of God's lawn chairs, right away!
